Atlantic City Airshow "Thunder Over The Boardwalk,"

I was fortunate enough to finally see the Atlantic City Air show. Every year the air show would take place on a Wednesday. Every year I would be in Margate, NJ (which is just down the beach) and see them practice but I would always have a flight scheduled to go back to Raleigh, NC that same day. I’ve seen them fly over our house while practicing but I was never able to actually see the show.  This year the show was moved to a Friday. I finally got to see it.

The Thunder over the boardwalk Airshow is one of the largest air shows in North America. What sets it apart from other shows is that it takes place over the ocean. The planes fly down the the beaches of Atlantic City, over the boardwalk with the casinos skyline in the background.

The Atlantic City Airshow “Thunder Over The Boardwalk,” was cut short because of mechanical problems. We later found out that one of the planes hit a bird and caused damage. I think I see the bird that stopped the show.

This is the view of the beach after the show. The event drew over 1 million viewers. I was glad to have a perfect, unobstructed view from the boardwalk.
